Senior infrastructure professional transitioning into cloud engineering, specializing in resilience, automation, backup/DR, and hybrid cloud architecture.
With 18+ years in enterprise IT, I've built, protected, and automated infrastructure that healthcare and energy organizations depend on daily. My foundation is deep: Windows/Linux systems, VMware/Hyper-V virtualization, enterprise networking, and backup/DR at scale.
Now I'm channeling that experience into cloud engineering, designing resilient, automated, cost-optimized infrastructure on AWS and Azure using modern tools like Terraform, Docker, and Python.
Outside of work, I experiment with local AI models (LM Studio, Ollama, Qwen, Gemma) and explore real-time 3D environments in Unreal Engine, both of which are shaping how I think about AI-integrated cloud architectures.
Currently based in the U.S., open to remote roles and actively planning relocation to Minnesota in 2026.
Designed and maintained backup/DR systems protecting 200TB+ across healthcare and energy sectors with zero critical data loss.
Built PowerShell and Python automation pipelines that reduced manual ops time and improved consistency across hybrid environments.
Hands-on experience running local AI models (Ollama, LM Studio, Qwen, Gemma) for automation experiments and AI-assisted workflows.
Actively building cloud skills on AWS & Azure — pursuing SAA-C03, AZ-104, and Terraform Associate certifications.
A broad stack built over 18+ years, now focused on cloud-native and automation-first engineering.
Hands-on projects demonstrating cloud infrastructure, automation, and AI integration skills.
Terraform-deployed AWS infrastructure replicating enterprise backup architecture, S3 with Object Lock, lifecycle policies, cross-region replication, and automated restore testing.
Simulated on-prem to cloud migration using Terraform modules, VPC design, subnets, security groups, EC2 instances, and VPN gateway configuration.
GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline that validates, plans, and applies Terraform changes automatically, with Slack notifications and drift detection.
Python-based CLI tool using Ollama + local LLMs (Qwen/Gemma) to assist with infrastructure tasks, log analysis, runbook generation, and alert summarization.
Enterprise backup and recovery system using Netvault, automated verification scripts, and monitoring with Nagios XI for 200TB+ data protection.
Experimental project connecting Unreal Engine 5 to AWS backend, S3 asset storage, Lambda triggers, and local AI model integration for dynamic environment generation.
I had the opportunity to meet and work with Angel while he was at Wyoming Medical Center, and we have continued a lasting friendship. Angel is hard working, dedicated, and has a great background/understanding of both networking and software. His experience and education, coupled with his people skills, makes him an outstanding asset to any company.

I worked with Angel Acosta (Angel) from 2013 to 2014. At that time I was a Cellular Field Engineer. Angel was working as a part of our team as a Cellular Field Engineer. Angel and I were a part of a 15 man team taking care of parts Wyoming, Montana and Colorado. In this his position each person had a broad range of responsibilities. Because of the large about of information we are required to know each of us would focus on smaller areas. My focus is on Transport and Microwave. Angel’s strength is Network elements, configuration and troubleshooting those issues. Angel’s expertise was and is in network routing, configuration, and troubleshooting. Angel’s “Can-Do” attitude allows him to figure out almost anything. I still refer to Angel even though he has moved on to bigger and better things. I consulted Angel while build a routing laboratory for training my co-workers. Because I am using older equipment Angel helped me find the IOS firmware and hardware compatible of creating my Lab from scratch. Even though Angel has moved on from Verizon he remains a friend and source of knowledge I rely on. He is always full of answers and is willing to help.
